Wedding Catering Spotlight – Annie & Jack
It is our job and expertise to be able to take your vision and transform it into reality. We want to take into consideration and integrate every single detail that made you and your partner fall in love into your special day. As you can tell, we’re big fans of love stories and we can’t wait to hear yours!
This month, we get the pleasure to share with you the story of one of the loveliest couples we’ve gotten the chance to work with. For this month’s feature, we get to share Annie’s & Jack’s story!
What inspired the couple’s menu?
“Local favorites and college allegiances. We tried to select items that were in season and Colorado specialties. We also tried to select items that were representative of our backgrounds- The bride is a University of Colorado grad (Go Buffs) and the groom is a University of Oregon grad (Go Ducks). We selected one appetizer that featured buffalo steak and one that featured duck as a tribute to our college allegiances. These appetizers were favorites among our guests who were mostly made up of Colorado and Oregon grads.”
What was your favorite menu item?
“Mac and cheese ball appetizers, steak entree, and cupcakes were our favorites, but all the food was truly amazing.”
What is one funny thing that happened during the day?
“Nothing too funny happened. The day really went exactly as planned thanks to our amazing family, friends, wedding planners, and catering company Relish. Something especially cute was when our 3 1/2 year old flower girl sprinted down the aisle at full speed with her flowers instead of walking. The guests got a laugh out of it and it really lightened the mood as our ceremony was beginning.”
Tell us something special about the reception.
“At the reception we said the grace Annie’s grandmother used to always say at special family meals. Annie’s grandmother was not able to attend the wedding because she had recently passed away. It was a special way to honor and remember her.”
What was your favorite aspect about working with Relish?
“We really enjoyed the personal service we received from our Relish consultant Stephanie. She was easy to get in contact with and always excited to talk about the details for our big day. We really appreciated her enthusiasm, attention to detail, and all the hard work she put in to our reception. She also did a great job working alongside our wedding planners and making sure the reception ran seamlessly. She was familiar with the Grant Humphey’s Mansion where our reception was help and we think this really help everything go smoothly.”
What’s your advice to couples who are in the planning phase?
“Our advice is to make sure you stay organized, have fun, and try to incorporate as many personal details into the day as possible. We also would recommend getting a wedding planner and working with an experienced catering company like Relish that you can trust and rely on.”
How did you hear about Relish?
“We heard about Relish through my brother and sister-in-law. Relish catered their wedding and we loved the food. We specifically remember loving the mac and cheese ball appetizers at their wedding. When we saw Relish was one of the approved catering companies for the Grant Humphrey’s Mansion we were very excited. We immediately contacted Relish and didn’t even bother to contact any other companies. After having such a positive experience with them at Annie’s brother’s wedding we knew that Relish was the catering company for our wedding. Plus they offered very competitive and reasonable pricing.”
If you’ve gotten started with your wedding planning process and have booked a venue, we’d love to hear from you and get to know your story!
